Authorship Pattern and Degree of Collaboration in Information Technology

Abstract
The study presents the trends in authorship pattern and author’s collaborative research in Information Technology with a sample of 17917 articles collect from LISA during 2000-2009.The average number of authors per article is 1.80. In the study the degree of collaboration (C) during the overall 10 years (2000-2009) is 0.71 but the year wise degree of collaboration is almost same in all the years of mean value 0.49. In the 10 years of period, the multi- authorship articles are higher and predominant on single authorship. The study found that the researches in Information Technology are keep toward team research or group research rather than solo research.

Dr Vaishali Khaparde Working as Head and Associate Professor, Dept of Library and Information Science , Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University ,Aurangabad (Maharashtra ) India , and Director ,Gautam Buddha Research Centre , She is Chairman ,BOS Library and Information Science .She has total 16 years of teaching Experience for Post Graduation .She Has published more than 90 Research Papers in various National and International Journals , Presented Papers in National as well as International Conferences .She has to here credit 8 Books She is the Associate Editor of National Journal i.e. The Horizon: A Biannual Research Journal ISSN 2229-4554 , and Associate Editor , of Bonfring International Journal of Data Mining ISSN : 2277-503X(online) ISSN: 2250-1053(Print) She is the Life Member of Indian Library Association (ILA), Indian Association of Teachers in Library and Information Science ( IATLIS), Indian Association of special Libraries and Information Centers(IASLIC) , Management Library Network ( MANLIBNET), BAMUTA , SALIS. She has been awarded as the Best Teacher Award by the BAMU Teachers Association in 2010.Her Areas of specialization are Bibliometrics, Library management, Non Book Material. She is Examiner and Paper setter for SET Examination in Library & Information science. She has visited Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) for Paper Presentation at International Conference in Library & Information Society. Visited Singapore as well as Bangkok University Libraries .She has also visited Srilanka (Colombo) for paper presentation. She has been honoured by the International Award “International Gold Star Award”in 2011; she has also been honoured by national awards “Bharat Jyoti Award” and “Best Citizens of India Award”in 2011. Kartabgar Mahila Puraskar by the Maharashtra State OBC Association 2012, and Dhammakanya Puraskar by Maharashtra State Samrat Association 2012. She was the Course Coordinator of Four Refresher Courses in Library and Information Science as well as Training programmes in Library Automation and Research Methodology. She is the Ph D Guide and 08 students have registered and one has awarded his Ph.D.degree. One International Candidate from Yemen is also working under her guidance. She has guided more than 80 students at MLISC and 45 students at M.Phil. Level. She is the Referee and also Editorial Board member of various Peer Reviewed National and International Journals.
